The car has a substantial file of historic documentation, which includes details of its development by the factory and its subsequent transfer to Eudel et Cie, the French Riley Agents, who re-bodied and competed with it during 1937-1939.

The history of this car has also been researched by respected Riley experts including Philip Hill, who also owns a reconstruction of one of the original MPH team cars and David Styles, who wrote the definitive Riley history As Old as the Industry and Sporting Rileys The Forgotten Champions.

1935 RAC Tourist Trophy, driven by Von der Becke as No 14, Finishing 9th place
1936 French Grand Prix, driven by Sebilleau and Paul as No 2, Finishing 3rd place in the up to 2 Litre class
1936 RAC Tourist Trophy, driven by Von der Becke as No 22, Finishing 11th
1937 Le Mans 24-Hours, driven by Raoul Forestier, but was retired following an accident that involved 6 cars just beyond White House Corner.
1937 French Grand Prix, driven again by Raoul Forestier and finished in Second Place in the Coupe de la Commission Sportive, 2 Litre Class.

Following the restoration, the car was to enter its first race in the UK since before the War, driven by Alan Clear, well known campaigner of Rileys, at VSCC Mallory Park. The car has also competed at VSCC Wiscombe Park and VSCC Prescott Hill Climbs. Allen Clear also raced it at Silverstone on more than one occasion.

The current owner is the daughter of Henry Geary, who acquired the car in 1957.
Henry was an apprentice mechanic for the Riley Competition Department in the 1930s and was determined to eventually acquire one or more of the Team cars for himself.

It took Henry 15 years of negotiation to finally purchase the TT Sprite from its French owner. Interestingly, Henry also bought the Ulster Imp, which was another of the original Riley Works Team cars that he had worked on as a young apprentice. Henrys daughter still competes in the Ulster Imp that Henry raced until he was 80 years old.

As with the majority of competition cars, the TT Sprite underwent continual development and was re-bodied on at least two occasions.

This is a unique opportunity to acquire an historic Competition Riley with extensive and fascinating provenance.

This car was featured in 'The Automobile' in July 2008 in a very interesting article illustrating much of the history and subsequent restoration. We also have a CD showing extensive and detailed photographs of its restoration, which was completed 8 years ago.

The car remains in exceptional condition.
