The XK8 is a grand tourer car that was launched in 1996 and was the first generation of a new XK series available in either coupé or convertible body styles and with the new 4.0 litre Jaguar AJ-V8 engine. The 1998 XKR was introduced with a supercharged version of the engine. Both the XK8 and XKR are electronically limited to a maximum of 155mph, the top speed of its predecessor, the XJS V12, being 158mph. Self-levelling xenon headlamps came as standard with the XKR with Jaguar's adaptive cruise control as an optional feature available on both models. Both come with all leather interior, burr walnut trim and side airbags. Jeremy Clarkson, during a Top Gear test-drive, likened the interior of the original XK8 to sitting inside Blenheim Palace.

Originally registered on 24th March 2000 this delightful Jaguar has had only one keeper from new and as covered a mere 27,802 miles in that time. The Emerald Green coachwork appears unmarked and the Cashmere interior, with its classic wood dashboard, is in delightful order. Driving an XKR is an experience to remember, in traffic the car is happy to be as sedate as necessary, hit the open road and this car really comes into its own. The 4.0 litre engine offers brisk performance anyway; bolt a supercharger on it and the performance is spectacular. The familiar comfort features of a Jaguar, air conditioning, electric seats, cruise control all contribute to making this a delightful car. Supplied with a V5C registration document together with a current MoT test certificate, this XKR coupé is certainly in condition that is commensurate with such a low mileage example.
