In February 1997 at 12 months, ownership was taken over by Lancaster Volvo of Cambridge. The Volvo would have covered 20157 miles at this time. Lancaster Volvo would keep ownership for four years averaging just under 2500 miles per year. The Volvo retained the original registration number during this period. During April 2002 with approximately 30000 miles on the speedometer the first private elderly gentleman owner would purchase the car from Lancaster Volvo as an approved used vehicle. He would have his private registration number allocated to the car (N3 RRW) on the 24th of April 2002 before taking delivery. He used the Volvo very sparingly for a few years. Adding just over 5000 miles. Soon after he passed away and the Volvo was put into dry storage for many years as the family couldn't part with the car. The mileage at this time was approximately 35600.Finally, during July 2015, the Volvo was taken out of storage and sold to the new keeper. After some recommissioning the new keeper would firstly book the Volvo in for a mot test. On the 15th of July 2015 with 35662 miles showing on the speedometer, a pass certificate was issued with no advisories recorded. During 2016 he and his brother (A Motor Mechanic) would carry out further re-commissioning. In addition to the servicing, new Avon tyres were fitted all round, including the spare. A new timing belt was also fitted. All fluids were replaced including the automatic transmission fluid. The new keeper was also very elderly and a real Volvo enthusiast. Almost 5 years on and the speedometer reading has only increased a further 3151 miles. Including a recent 300-mile trip to Edinburgh. The car drives wonderfully.The most recent keeper being elderly has unfortunately passed away also. I was fortunate enough to be offered the car from his family. The servicing records have been misplaced during the house clearance. I have confirmation from the sellers that the recent work has been completed. With the help of Volvo UK, I have sourced the earlier history up to 25714 miles. Volvo has supplied me with a print out of these service records. Five service records in total. A new mot has just been issued with no advisories recorded. In addition to the mot I have had a service and comprehensive inspection front to back. The workshop was quite amazed with the Volvo.
