TRIUMPH 1800 ROADSTER - €33,500
Triumph 1800 Roadster (18TR), year 1947.Color green combined with a dark red leather interior finished with red carpet and a vinyl beige hood. The Triumph 1800 roadster (and the 2000 presented in 1948) were the ancestors of the later Triumph TR series. Triumph went bankrupt in 1944, after which the company was taken over by car manufacturer Standard. For several years, director Sir John Black was jealous of SS-Cars, which since 1936 successfully marketed the Jaguar SS90 and SS100 sports cars with Standard engines. With the purchase of Triumph, Standard wanted to compete with Jaguar and other English sports car brands. The Triumph 1800 roadster (18TR) was the first post-war Triumph in 1946. Only 2501 examples were built. This beautiful example shows a beautifully restored body and a like new leather interior. The car is in very good to excellent condition and the car shows all the original details. The most eye-catching is the 'dickey seat' in the back in which two 'small people' can take place. The 65 hp four-cylinder Standard engine propels the car to a top speed of 120 km/h.The 3-speed gearbox is equipped with a perfectly working steering column switch and offers the advantage that there is room for three people on the couch! This Triumph Roadster had a leading role in the television series Bergerac. There are Italian papers with this Triumph. We speak Dutch, English , German and French. Our cars can be delivered with Dutch, German or Belgium registration. We can assist with the French registration.Transport to your door is possible. We have our own workshop facility with 30 years experience with classic cars.
