Vehicle now MOT'd to Jan 20. I have owned this vehicle since 2010 and kept it garaged with 62k on the clock until 2016, following which it has been used for daily commuting. I am selling as it is now a third 'hobby' car that I can no longer afford. It has been well cared for and maintained throughout its life, has never been smoked in and is in exceptional condition for its age, both inside and out. It features all of the usual late model coupe items: Electric mirrors/windows/central locking/alarm and immobiliser/PAS/ABS/twin airbags/seatbelt pre-tensioners/removable roof panels/5 speed gearbox. It has full leather Piccadilly grey interior and the original Rover stereo system with CD multi-changer that is in full working order. It has also been fitted with an upgraded 52mm throttle body, K & N air filter, Magnacor high performance HT Leads and Powerflow custom fitted stainless steel exhaust from the catalytic converter rearwards. In addition to the standard immobiliser, a secondary Cobra immobiliser has been fitted. Under my ownership the car has never been abused or thrashed and the oil and filter have been changed every 6000 miles using Castrol Magnatec. The head gasket was replaced with the upgraded multi-layer type at 97000 miles and the engine runs smoothly through the range with a rock-steady idle and no ECU or engine management problems. In addition to the head gasket, the following items have been replaced in the last 9 months: Engine coolant transducer, top radiator hose, rear brake pads, rear tyres, oil and filter and alternator. Apart from a very minor scuff on the front nearside wheel and a small patch of peeling paint on the front offside wheel, the alloys and steel spare are in immaculate condition. I have all MOT certificates since 2000 and servicing records, bills and receipts since 2001 as well as spare key and fob and owners handbook. Inevitably with a car of this age there are a few minor issues, which are: Rainwater leaks into the boot (a fairly common problem), The LED clock has died (they all do), Paint bubbling on the spoiler (common problem) and minor rust bubbling in several spots. I have owned 3 VVC coupes consecutively over the last 18 years and am very familiar with their problems and vices and this has certainly been one of the better ones that drives exceptionally well and still feels tight and responsive. These are now very rare vehicles and I am looking to sell to an enthusiast who appreciates the marque, is aware of the care and maintenance requirements of elderly Rovers and will continue to look after it. This is not a vehicle for the young driver or those unprepared for the challenges of keeping an older vehicle on the road. Viewing and test drives are very welcome although due to work commitments and the dark evenings, viewing opportunities during January are limited to the weekends of 12-13 Jan and 26-27 Jan only.
