This lot will be auctioned via Iconic Auctioneers, Online Auction - 31st July on Thursday the 31st of July. BackgroundSome would argue that the original Boxster is one of Porsche’s best models in recent times. The first Porsche to be designed solely as a roadster since the 914, the Boxster, released in 1996 and known internally as the 986, has been enjoying increasing popularity in recent years. The original Boxster marked a turning point for Porsche, who needed a commercial upswing in order to remain viable. After consultation with Toyota in the early 1990s, the decision was made to implement greater parts sharing across models. As a result, many Boxster components - namely the bonnet, front wings, headlights, interior and engine architecture - were utilised in the 996 generation of the 911, introduced a year later in 1997. This meant buyers received a more grown-up 'junior Porsche' with a mid-mounted engine offering more neutral handling. What’s not to love? The CarThe example on offer here is a fine one and ready to be enjoyed throughout the summer months. It features a smart specification of black paint, attractive 16’’ wheels, a black soft top, and a black and grey leather interior. Displaying a wonderfully low 38,700 miles, the exterior presents well, with no curbing evident on the wheels, and the paintwork in the condition you would expect given the mileage. The part-leather interior still holds up nicely, with door cards looking fresh and minimal expected wear to high-contact areas such as the driver’s seat, steering wheel and gear knob. Mechanically, this 2002 Boxster is as you would expect for the mileage. This example also has an MOT valid until June next year, having passed with minimal advisories. The service book shows a comprehensive history, including servicing by Porsche main dealers, Porsche specialists, and independent workshops. Its last service was carried out on 10/07/25 at just over 38,000 miles. We believe this is a great low-mileage example of a model that continues to grow in popularity among Porsche enthusiasts and is now being properly appreciated for its driving prowess. We welcome all enquiries on this soft-top Porsche. Location: West MidlandsSeller: PrivatePhotos: Professional
