1993 PORSCHE 968 Club Sport - £POA
SOLD: A stunning Club Sport, non-sunroof with rare M030 and M220 options, 73k miles.
Sport-type chassis (M030), 40% locking limited slip differential (M220), Air conditioning, Electric windows, Recaro bucket seats, Momo steering wheel, 17-inch Cup 1 alloy wheels, Digital stopwatch, Rear wiper delete, Club Sport' decals, Lockable glove compartment, Colour coded rear spoiler, Coin holder, Spare wheel, Toolkit.
With its lowered stance and handsome Cup wheels, the Club Sport's inherent style makes it perhaps one of the best looking 968s produced. This example is finished in a lustrous coat of solid black, which looks fantastic against the striking CS decals and vivid red calipers. The paint is in wonderful condition, remaining glossy and scratch-free throughout. There is no corrosion to the body or underside, with zero dents or major wear to any of the panels. The front end presents with almost no stone chips.
Devoid of the many luxuries usual associated with a premium sports car the Club Sport retains its original track-day feel on the inside. Upon entry you are greeted by lightweight Recaro bucket seats, which show almost no signs of any wear. Free from any scuffs or scratches the door cards present very well, as do the dashboard and centre console.
The retrofit Momo wheel is in keeping with the cabin's sporty undertones, and the gear knob presents like new. The carpets are immaculate throughout and show no signs of any fading or discolouration. The generously proportioned rear luggage compartment is also in fantastic order; hidden below the carpet lies the toolkit and space saver wheel, complete with air compressor.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Praised for its superior handling the Club Sport was named Performance Car of the Year' in 1993 soon after its launch. Under the bonnet lies the 2990cc inline-4 engine mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The engine bay of this particular car remains extremely clean and tidy with no corrosion to any of the panels or components. Complete with a superb maintenance record the car appears in excellent mechanical fettle, performing extremely well on test.
This non-sunroof example was spec'd with the rare and highly desirable M220 and M030 options from new. M220 meant a 40% locking limited slip differential, and M030 comprised stiffer springs and dampers (adjustable Koni), stiffer anti-roll bars, 30mm hollow fixed at the front and 19mm adjustable at the rear. The brakes were upgraded to cross-drilled 304mm discs at the front with larger calipers and hubs, and the rear discs were crossed-drilled 299mm.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The 968 sits on a pristine set of Cup 1 alloys, finished in silver. Each wheel is in perfect condition with absolutely no curb marking to speak of. The car's stunning colour combo is topped off with gorgeous Porsche-branded red calipers that present as new. The 17-inch wheels are shod in a matching set of Dunlop Direza tyres, each with plenty of tread remaining.
The 968 was first registered on 4th June 1993. Having resided in a dry climate from new the car has retained an excellent rust-free body and underside. It was only very recently imported with all duties and taxes paid on arrival; it is now offered for sale for the first time in the UK.
Present in the history file is a raft of maintenance invoices to complement the dealer-supplied owner's manual and service book. The service history is as follows:
