Uber rare 928 SE, or Sport (also known in Europe as Club Sport). 57,700: genuine mileage, meticulously maintained, owned since 2012, massive history file to verify mileage and condition. 5 speed, dog-leg manual, as all SE/Sport/CS 928 were. Unrestored, original car in superb condition.

Only 42 SE right hand drive were made for the UK market. Even less CS were made for Europe. The LHD 928 CS that Derek Bell drove for many years was sold by Bonham Auctions in 2016 for over £200,000.00.
The 928 was revolutionary when it debuted in 1977. Impact bumpers sculptured to the contours of the body, aluminium front wings, bonnet and door skins, 50/50 weight distribution via front engine, rear transaxle configuration and a host of luxuries now considered standard fare on motorcars (electric windows, climate control, central locking, adjustable steering wheel etc..).
Most 928 were automatic gearbox. In 1987 Porsche decided to try out a Club Sport style 928 with blueprinted 5.0 litre engine, 5 speed manual gearbox, weight reduction by removing seat motors and various bits of trim and fitting unique style forged light alloy wheels (which are NOT the same as the later GT model). Five were made, all LHD. In 1988, 42 were supplied as SE models to the UK. Porsche GB added back in a few items (rear wiper, rear sun visors). Only 4 colours were available: white, red, black or silver.
I have owned this SE since 2012. It was registered new on 01 August 1988, supplied by Roger Clark Cars. The second owner had the car until 2000, at 20,500 miles, which is verified by the official Porsche Service Centre history. The third owner had the car to 2012 and 36,400. I have taken the mileage to 57,700 miles, which is mainly touring around Europe and the UK. The car has been looked after by marque specialists GT One, Chertsey. Apart from routine servicing, I have had new steering rack, new suspension (correct SE parts), new radiator and all belts as required. The car sits on Porsche approved Continental tyres, fitted at 54,000 miles. The SE has always been garaged in my ownership and has been a holiday/weekend vehicle.
I have all the service books, handbooks, paperwork, sale brochures and spare keys including the original Porsche Alarm system fobs (that still work). Every receipt and MOT in my ownership and many from the previous owners also, including the free first service voucher at 1114 miles. I even have a picture of the car from August 1988 at the first owners wedding; it was a present to himself.
I have kept receipts from all my major trips, to the Porsche Museum and Ferrari, to Classic Essen etc to provide a history of the cars major tours.
I have the original Blaupunkt radio cassette (with instruction booklet) but have changed this for a Woodstock 52 (with original box and instructions), the worlds first in-car digital radio. Both units will be sold with the car.
I have the original luggage cover in good condition (they tend to disintegrate) but have changed this for a leather bespoke version, with leather luggage storage bins (see pic). All these can be removed but will be sold with the SE.

The seat trim and carpets are all original. The car has had over-mats from new, so the original carpet is in fine order. I have used seat covers in my ownership, so the SE/CS unique red pin-strip is in wonderful condition. The paintwork is near flawless. The UK SE had the door bump stripe, which the CS models did not have. I had these removed in 2016 at a cost of £3,000; the side of the car was re-painted and I can certainly not tell, it was a beautiful job by GT One. A previous owner had the Cup door mirrors fitted, which I prefer and have kept.
I am not aware of any work that the car presently requires. I do not skimp on my cars and I do the work that is required.

The MOT run to October 2019 and will be renewed as due.
I have the Porsche Certificate of Authenticity from Porsche GB, which confirms the car was one of the few SE 928.

The SE 928 is quite a different drive from any other 928. I have owned a 78 auto, an 80 manual, a CS and a GTS; the SE and CS are streets ahead of any other 928. The engine pulls beautifully from low down but comes alive over 5000rpm. This is no lazy V8; it wants to be pushed and the sound on the over-run is just heaven. Yet you can cruise all day at motorway speeds and crush 500 miles or more in day and step out ready for an evening on the town.

I am only selling as I have several other cars that do a similar job to the 928, so it is time to move on.

You will have noticed the car sports an appropriate number plate. I will happily sell this with the car but by separate negotiation. I am very happy to keep 928 SE number plate.
