The body shape remained low profile, with a drag coefficient of just 0.29 for the Carrera. The 997 Generation II models were introduced in 2008, gaining a revised direct fuel injection 3,800cc engine which produced an impressive 385 HP. They also added a revised suspension, updated styling, new HID projector headlamps, touch-screen navigation, and Bluetooth telephony. The new PDK gearbox replaced the Tiptronic S system. It produced the quickest available acceleration, offered fast gear changes with no powerband interruption, improved fuel consumption and saved weight. The 997 Carrera 2S coupe can reach 0 to 62 mph in 4.5 seconds and has a top speed of 186 mph.
