MITSUBISHI GALANT VR4 - £15,000
This lot will be auctioned via Iconic Auctioneers, Online Auction - 29th May on Thursday the 29th of May. BackgroundThe Mitsubishi Galant VR-4 is considered the spiritual predecessor to the Lancer Evolution. Developed to meet Group A rally regulations, the VR-4 incorporated many of the same technologies—such as the four-wheel drive system and turbocharger—that would later be found in the Lancer Evo. It is often regarded as the "Evo 0", the car that paved the way for the Evo's success in rally racing. The CarThis particular car rolled off the production line in 1992. Originally registered in Japan, the Galant was brought to the UK only a few years ago, and was registered for British roads at the start of this year. It has travelled 117,000 km in its thirty-three years of life, which equates to about 72,000 miles. The car has recently had several new parts fitted to bring it back to good working order. These include a new steering rack, starter motor, alternator, and battery. There are multiple invoices available to verify the work carried out. It will also come with 12 months’ MOT before the auction ends. The exterior, as shown in the photos, appears to be in good condition without any major marks or blemishes. The car was recently given a full detail and polish, so as you’d expect, it’s gleaming! These cars came equipped with numerous features that were ahead of their time, such as four-wheel steering and cruise control. It’s also fitted with air conditioning and electric folding mirrors, all of which the vendor believes are functioning as they should. Overall, this is a wonderful piece of Japanese rally heritage—and the forerunner to the legendary Lancer Evolution—offered at a much more accessible price.
