The MG Midget is a small two-seater sports car that was produced by the British automaker MG (Morris Garages) from 1961 to 1980. This version also included some cosmetic changes, such as a revised grille and larger taillights. In 1966, the MkIII Midget was released, bringing further updates to the design and performance. It featured a 1,275cc engine, which increased the power output to 65 horsepower. The MkIII Midget also had a revised dashboard layout and improved suspension for better handling. In 1969, the MkIII Midget underwent another significant update, resulting in the introduction of the MkIV Midget. This version featured a more modern design, with a squared-off rear end, flared wheel arches, and a blacked-out grille. The MkIV Midget also received a larger 1,275cc engine, producing 65 horsepower like its predecessor. During this period, the MG brand underwent various ownership changes. In 1967, MG became part of the British Leyland Motor Corporation, which later merged with other automakers to form British Leyland Limited. This change in ownership had an impact on the production and development of the MG Midget. Ultimately, the MG Midget enjoyed significant popularity throughout the 1960s, thanks to its compact size, affordable price, and spirited performance. This totally restored 1972 MG Midget restored priory to the purchase of the current owner and we would guess at being completed some 10 yers ago and is still in fine order and great condition throughout. Totally rust free example and drives so well. The car has two tourney covers, full tool kit and a good history file.
