Tony is the owner of this Lancia Fulvia Rallye from 1969. Hes owned it for over 15 years, and in that time has spent a lot of time and money restoring the car.
When he bought the car, from the previous owner on the Isle of Wight, it was not in a good state. Things like the brakes didnt work, lights, the passenger door didnt hang right.
Tony spent around 10 years, along with a local classic car restoration company, bringing the car up to a fully restored standard. The car was stripped back to metal and repainted back in Lancia silver paint imported from Italy. The interior also was completely renovated.
Tony is moving now, and as the car cant stay in his heated garage, it is up for sale with us.
Finished in Lancia Silver, this car was stripped back to bare metal and restored in Tonys ownership.
Wheels & Tyres
Lancia steel wheels with hub-caps all around, and 14 tyres (Dunlop and Bridgestones). The wheels benefit from professional detail, surface corrosion on close inspection is visible, take a look at the images.
When Tony bought the car, the bodywork was in need of repair. This was actioned in the restoration. Since then, Tony has used the car and there seems to be some surface rust on the floor pans from the inside, and some rust on the lower leading edges of body panels etc, but no visible rust on the usual places like wheel arches. There is a dent on the rear wing of the car, take a look at the videos and photos.
The silver paint, imported from Lancia in Italy as part of the restoration, looks great. Even in colour and finish across the car, it really makes it stand out. Over the years of usage since restoration, its developed a number of chips in the paint, these tend to be on leading edges of the panels etc. Watch the video review to see these.
Glass and Trim
Glass on the car all looks good. The trim/brightwork has signs of pitting and surface corrosion from its years of usage post restoration. Take a look at the images.
Along with the exterior, Tony had the interior of the car restored. This is clearly visible, details below.
Seats and Carpets
Leather across all the seats, and black carpets replaced throughout the interior on the car. All look in great condition, as can be seen by the video and photo media.
Tony didnt like the wood veneer dashboard, and so opted to get a solid wood (Walnut) dash made during the restoration. It looks great, along with all the dials and switchgear. View the photos for the detail.
Steering Wheel / Gear Stick
Both the steering wheel and gearstick look in good condition, in line with the cars age and restoration work completed.
Tony took us on a short set of laps around the local area to show the car working etc.
Engine and Gearbox
The 1.3L engine sprung into life from cold with gusto, and sounded fine under revs etc. Tony took the car through its 4 gears with ease, watch the video to see this in action.
Suspension and Brakes
On the local roads, the car sounded fine, youll see that Tony drives it with ease. The brakes, they definitely work. If you watch the video youll see that Tony completed an emergency stop with us to showcase this.
A few laps around the local area, an enjoyable experience in this classic Italian car.
Electrics and Other
The electrics like lights werent working when Tony purchased the car, now Tony informs us that everything is working as it should.
Tonys owned this car for 15 years, and carried out a restoration in his ownership. The car comes with some history such as invoices and MOTs.
The car is showing just over 57,700 miles as of 10.09.2019.
