1989 FORD SIERRA SAPPHIRE Classic - £2,000 Offers ...
Ford Sierra, Sapphire, Classic, 1.6. Registered, August, 1989 and still less than, 48,000 miles, I have the old MOTs to confirm this, next MOT due 18th July 2020, on SORN. The previous owner left it in a garage and only took it out once every year doing 3 or 4 miles for its MOT. I have done just under 9,000 during the three years I have owned it; during this time it has only needed normal servicing.
Good overall unrestored, original, condition, with normal wear & tear consistent with the mileage. The interior is almost as new, there arent even any holes in the rear parcel shelf for extra speakers. The only additions are, an old immobiliser and an alarm system, which both work and a more modern CD/Radio stereo unit.
There are a lot of better vehicles about but they have been restored and had a lot of time and money spent on them. However this is just an old car, it is what you would have expected from a five year old, second hand car of its time but its now, 30 years old. Other than general maintenance, it has had nothing done to it, except patching up some flaky underseal underneath. It does need some attention to the door bottom edges and wheel arches.
This is the very basic specification model, a car which no-one would think was special enough to be worth preserving, the majority of these were run into the ground and then sent to a scrap-yard. It has the long stroke, 1597cc version of the pinto engine, which I describe as the motorised shopping trolley version it is a very rare example of this base specification model, one web-site claims there are only five of this model left on the road. A car for a genuine ford-o-phile.
I would be happy to accept £2,000 for it but I will consider offers, for more info please contact,
Please do not phone me I don't keep the phone switched on.
The car and I are in south-east Birmingham.
