This very nice 1959 DKW F93 that had a perfect restoration in 2019, was initially only available in metallic diamond blue for a very short time. It is a so-called 'SKD' kit (Semi Knocked Down). The driving part of the car was made in Dusseldorf and exported to the Netherlands on the 26th November 1958. The car was assembled in early '59 by the Dutch importer Hart Nibbrig & Greeve in Sassenheim. This course of action attracted substantial tax relief. In 1959 it was registered for the first time in Belgium. In 2019 the Coupe was thoroughly and fully restored by a DKW specialist using, original DKW parts where necessary. The chassis and body were separated during the process. The 896 cc three-cylinder two-stroke engine has been fully rebuilt and for instance given a new crankshaft, new pistons and new needle bearings. The car now runs on a 1 in 40 fuel mixture. The petrol tank too was taken apart, cleaned and internally re-coated. The complete interior trim has been replaced and new tyres were fitted. The F93's beautiful metal dashboard, the perfectly preserved original rubber mats as well as the decorative strips on the boot deserve a special mention. The factory car document confirms the matching chassis and body. Since the restoration the car has been expertly driven for some 2000 km to allow for further tuning. The car is now completely 'Ready to go'. The driving characteristics are fantastic, meaning that this Coupe will be good for many more years of trouble-free and enjoyable motoring. The body shape was determined in the Porsche wind tunnel and is very striking. This is a car in pristine day-1 condition having received a top-class restoration job.
