This rare Daimler Conquest Century MKII has had a staggering 16,000 spent with its previous owner over the past several years and presents an excellent opportunity. According to the Jaguar Heritage Motoring Trust, this Daimler was distributed by JA Zarpas, Nigeria but was first registered in the UK on the 1st July 1957. It has been suggested the Daimler was used as a Nigerian Embassy Vehicle here in the UK but we have no evidence to substantiate this. We can confirm the Daimler was supplied new in Black with Cream trim and according to its previous owner spent many, many years off the road in a museum/collection. In 2014 the last owner purchased the Daimler and has spent a huge amount of money and time on the car. Whilst it has had in the region of 16,000, the car ideally still needs the leather re-trimming and it would benefit from carpets and a headlining. As a new project has emerged, we have collected the Daimler from the South West and have been undecided as to whether we should trim the car or test the market prior to doing any work. We are happy to sell the car in its current condition or can discuss a price to include upholstery work and any other specific detail work. The Daimler engine has been removed, stripped down, re-bored and treated to all new pistons. The crankshaft was found to be in very good order, bearings were replaced, and the engine built back up. The cylinder head was rebuilt and converted to unleaded and a Jaguar automatic transmission sourced and rebuilt. The Daimler has been treated to electric power steering, new water pump, a high torque starter motor, alternator conversion, new wheel cylinders, new brake pipes and hoses, new fuel pumps, later HS6 carburettors, suspension rubbers and a new exhaust system fabricated and made up. The Daimler was treated to a full external re-paint and was awaiting trimming work until we agreed to take the car in part exchange. Price: (Offers Invited)
