Corvette stingray C3 T-top L82 finished in bright red with white detailing, black interior , built at the General Motors assembly plant in St Louis, Missouri , in February 1977 and imported to the UK in February 1979 the v5 shows the registration date as 05/02/79, this example has had the 5.7 V8 engine rebuilt with sensible modifications to increase the BHP to 400, these include 750 S/V holley carburetor with Weiland intake manifold, Edelbrock performer rpm alloy heads, Flowtech performance 4 branch manifolds and exhaust, Hi lift cam, Forged dome top pistons giving 11:1 compression , Eagle lightened and balanced crankshaft, high stall torque converter, this takes a very torquey and quiet, quick car into an extremely torquey and very quick car which to my mind makes it drive like all Corvettes should, a lot of them out there sound good, look good but are disappointing to drive. Not this one.Obviously this car is mechanically good, the engine starts up first time hot or cold and ticks over instantly showing good oil pressure, in traffic its smooth and easy to handle, very docile and civilised with the cooling system coping well, once on the open road the power is instantaneous, just touch the throttle and feel that grin on your face, as you go up the revs that tremendous V8 growl just gets better and better. Fitted with composite rear springs for improved handling, the gearbox is smooth the brakes are positive and bring the car to rest straight and vibration free, the steering is light and also positive, and if the roar of the engine is not enough to attract the crowd or the bright paintwork, it's fitted with some very tuneful air horns which very quickly clear your path.The bodywork is good, no crazing or distinctive marks, fitted with original factory alloys that are in good unmarked condition with good branded tyres all round, the interior is nice with good seats and reasonable carpets and trim, the T top panels remove and refit as they should the stowage bags are present and in good condition, electric windows ,vacuum lights operate as they should.There is a history file with, owners manual, invoices, information on the modifications and a raft of previous mot's which shows the car to have done very little mileage over the last 15 years only around 2000 miles in that time, the car is to be sold with a new MOT.All in all a very presentable and usable car that attracts the crowd wherever it goes, well worth taking the time to view, which can be arranged for most times, prospective buyers can be picked up from Newcastle main rail station or Airport, delivery can be arranged at £1.40 per mile (one way) once the car is paid for in full, payment can be made by Bank transfer, Cash, we also accept most major credit/debit cards with cardholder present and proof of ID and proof of address .
