BMW Z3 ROADSTER E36 - £6,000
This lot will be auctioned via Iconic Auctioneers, Online Auction - 14th August on Thursday the 14th of August. Background Mainstream success in the early 1990s favoured those who accepted that a cultural shift towards modesty was coming. Naturally, the likes of Ferrari and Lamborghini cared not a jot for political correctness, but mainstream manufacturers had to be careful when it came to the launch of an all new sportscar. Ironically it was the phenomenal success of Mazda’s little MX-5 that prompted the development of many new roadsters and BMW could see a market for a reliable and modestly handsome mid-priced alternative. When the Z3 Roadster was launched in 1995 the deal that BMW made with the producers of the first James Bond film in six years was intended to be a cross-promotional enterprise, giving kudos to the first non-British car provided by Q-Branch. Sales spiked as the film sat at number one at the box office and it is said that the entire 1996 BMW Z3 roadster production run of more than 15,000 was sold out for that year. The Car Registered on 28th September 2000, this original BMW Z3 3.0i Wide-Body comes presented in superb condition, having covered c.77,000 miles from new. A factory M Sport model featuring the sought after 3-litre M54 inline-six engine, delivering 231bhp and 221lb/ft of torque, paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox the most desirable of configurations. This example has had five owners from new and boasts a substantial amount of documented service history, including the last service being carried out in April 2024, just 150 miles ago. MOT valid until mid-June 2026, with no advisories for 2023, 2024, and 2025. Finished in its original specification, the car retains its factory stereo, air-conditioning, electric leather seats, and original BMW toolkit and owner’s handbook. The interior and exterior are in great condition, with only light stone chipping to the front and a small crack to the rear nearside light fitting. In recent years, it has benefited from numerous key maintenance items including the replacement of front shock absorbers and suspension bushes, a new electric soft top and rear window, new stabilising module, a replacement battery and a new driver-side brake calliper, Mechanically and cosmetically it has always been sorted without expense spared. Having covered just 400 miles over the past two years, the car is now being reluctantly offered for sale. A superb, low-mileage example of a modern classic, ready to be enjoyed by its next custodian.
