1971 BMW 2000 'NEUE KLASSE' - £14,995

Motodrome offer this very nice 1971 BMW ‘Neue Klasse’ 2000 4-door manual, finished in Atlantic Blue with two-tone interior When was the last time you saw one of these? They’re like hen’s teeth, especially in original UK RHD form. The 1962-72 ‘Neue Klasse’ models helped to establish BMW’s credentials as manufacturers of sports saloons, and was replaced by the E12 5 series in 1972, It’s also the first BMW to introduce the ‘Hofmeister Kink’ to the C-pillar, which you still see on modern example, . Drives beautifully, with a very sweet M10 engine, slick 4-speed gearbox, and goes down the road smoothly with no rattles or squeaks. It’s recently emerged from our workshop having had the front brakes rebuilt with reconditioned calipers and new pads etc. The previous owner says he had it repainted (in the original colour) in 2022 and it presents well. It has an odometer reading of just 59500 miles – whilst we haven’t sufficient history to support this, it have one owner from new until 1982, and then the 2nd owner had it 1982 to 2016, so it may be correct. The history we have only goes back to the mid-2010’s, but does include a new clutch, radiator, and alternator in 2018, and various servicing and repair bills from then to now. Last serviced at 59061 miles. Whilst it’s now MOT exempt due to it’s age, it’s currently MOT’d to May 2026 What else can I say about it? If you know your classic BMW’s, you’ll know just how special these little saloons are, and this one oozes originality. On our own website, you'll find our usual 2 videos – a walkaround appraisal, and driving impressions, which form part of the description. Viewing by prior appointment
