1953 Bentley R Type Manual Chassis. This Bentley R Type was discovered in the early 1970's having been unused for over a decade. As it was a superbly original, unmolested example the decision was made to completely strip & rebuild the chassis totally with brand new factory supplied parts even down to the last original camshaft off the shelf at Crewe. This painstaking re-build was executed by possibly one of the finest, respected Rolls-Royce trained engineers who has looked after my collection of R & S Type Continentals for over 40 years. Although this chassis has never been used, it has been professionally stored by me since the full restoration was executed. I felt compelled to seize the opportunity of buying this possibly unique fully restored chassis as a precaution should an unfortunate event ever occur with one of the Bentleys in my collection. I am reliably informed by a Rolls-Royce main agent that none of these original factory components have been available for many years and should one be fortunate to locate original parts to the extent that have been used to re-build this chassis one would expect to pay in the region of £100,000.00.The chassis comes with a series of exotic & flamboyant coach work designs which could be executed to the highest standard by Killick Fabrications - to be discussed with the fortunate new owner.
