With the first sale taking place in late 2016, The Market was the UK’s first dedicated classic and collectible car auction. Evolving from the Patina digital vehicle history platform, The Market was created from a realisation that a combination of digital technology, the best photographers and the best journalists could create an experience that puts more information than ever before at the buyers fingertips, provide the most transparency whilst delivering it for the lowest cost for both buyers and sellers.

Since then, The Market has grown exponentially, achieving an industry leading sale rate of over 89%. In early 2021 Bonhams acquired The Market to further add to its own digital offerings.

Today The Market operates across the UK, Europe and the US and is still the only online classic and collector car auction platform that is willing to provide transparency by publishing all of its results.

Headquartered in the UK and with locations across Europe and US, our UK location in Oxfordshire benefits from a 13,000 square foot facility that allows sellers who take advantage of our concierge service to store their cars during the sales process.
