2000 ASTON MARTIN DB7 VANTAGE - £34,950
The Aston Martin DB7 was produced between 1994 and 2004, with the V12-engined Vantage model as offered here, appearing in 1999. This luxury grand tourer was produced at a time when Aston Martin was under Ford ownership -- who also owned Jaguar at the time -- and the car was based on a potential replacement design for the Jaguar XJ-S, which had been created by the TWR organisation (who had had much success in racing the XJ-S model). The DB7 used a steel unit construction inherited from Jaguar (rather than a separate aluminium body as traditionally used by Aston Martin) and the V12 engine used in the Vantage was derived from a Ford prototype, using two Ford Mondeo Duratec V6s. It is understood that just 4640 DB7 Vantage models were made. This particular vehicle was delivered new in Jersey in November 2000 and has subsequently spent its life in local ownership. There are complete dealer service history records from new up to 2019 (including Aston Martin themselves), confirming the low recorded mileage of just under 17,000 miles. The metallic green paintwork is in unmarked condition and the alloy wheels are also near-mint, showing no signs of curbing or scuffing. The underside and engine bay of the car are in a very good condition, as might be anticipated for a vehicle with a limited mileage. The interior, which only shows minimal signs of use, is a sumptuous mix of leather seats and trim, together with Wilton carpet for the flooring and wood veneer facia panels. A multi-changer CD unit is fitted in the boot compartment. The 6.0-litre V12 engine in the Vantage produces phenomenal acceleration and sounds fantastic when pushing on. The claimed power output is 420 bhp which, driving the 5-speed automatic transmission fitted, can deliver a claimed top speed of 165 mph and a 0--60 mph time of around 5 seconds. The Aston Martin DB7 Vantage is a hand-crafted, luxury grand tourer with tremendous power and performance. It is equally relaxed at real-world speeds however and can cruise along comfortably rather than demanding to be driven like a sports car at all times. This example is in a near-pristine low-mileage condition with a service history to back this up and represents a rare opportunity to acquire a classic British thoroughbred. For a local, Jersey sale the purchase price is inclusive of the current registration number.
