1957 TRIUMPH TR3 - €30,000 Negotiable
The TR was appraised the 4th of October 2015. The expert has the replacement value (for assurance) set at 37,500 euro (rapport).
Below you find some specifications and history.
I bought the TR in 2002. It has been in maintenance its whole life in the Netherlands by heritage garages.
Since 2007 maintenance and upgrades was carried out by Hans Kooij (THE TR specialist in the Netherlands). He also carried out the following works:
- replaced new rear leaf springs (not Moss but special made);
- overhauled the gearbox and overdrive;
- mounted stainless steel exhaust, etc.;
- All activities are documented.
Below a summary of some work done on the TR for rally driving (was done by Van Sten Engineering (Lotus specialist)):
Front assembly Screen + headlamps, etc. removed and fitted again on behalf of revised radiator and steering house replacement.
Steering Column mounted + additional bracket in Paravan mounted.
Carburetors had to remove, Steering disassembled + support for new wheelhouse and brackets welded to chassis.
New steering assembly mounted Rack and pinion (again not Moss).
Placed new oil cooler, connect + support construction for cooler and thermostat.
New brakes, cilinders, master cilinder, etc.
Run/tests the engine. Replaced new hoses.
Mounting spare hole of the left and right shock absorbers replace repaired + ARB Spindles cameras mounted 3x does not fit. Left / right are different.
Filling holes fit.
Support Dynamo changed so that the alternator is in line with the crankshaft and water pump.
Wishbones + support + upper arm control arms replace.
Holes in bodywork sealers + windshield frame securing change + ARB changed
Chairs out again, rails removed for new supports, supports made and chairs placed back in the car.
Supports for front lamps made, assembled and varnished. Mounting Bracket
modified exhaust, welded chassis (Note: this was later replaced by stainless steel exhaust by Hans Kooij)
New seats installed, used other holes. Old holes welded, polished and lacquered.
Assembly sump plate, disassembly earlier oil cooler support, Fit crankcase protection plate. Carter protection plate.
Main power switch mounted + transit + cables custom made.
Pull new wiring.
Rollover bar and Luke 4-point seat belts placed (NB. The rollover bar is later adjusted, wherein the upper part has been removed. The part which is mounted to the chassis is present as well as the safety belts). The safety belts can easily be removed and fitted again (I only use them when going for a long trip down the highway or abroad.
installed new battery + Battery box. Connect wiring headlights.
Wiring + relay switch contact wires connected light and fog light + + + horn connected and made test drives.
Classic Vredestein tires installed
The TR has a convertible top 2010.
