1954 Sunbeam Talbot 90 IIa Coupe

The 4 cylinder engine of 2267cc in a mark IIa produced about 77 BHP giving the car a top speed in the high 80s.
Sunbeam Talbot 90s and their sister car the Alpine were successful rally cars in the 1950s having success in major international rallies e.g. the Alpine, Monte and others. Stirling Moss, better known as a racing driver, came 2nd in the 1952 Monte Carlo Rally in a S.T 90 saloon. Sunbeam Talbots were the most successful British rally cars until the Mini Coopers came along in the 60s.

This Coupe had a professional restoration of the body work and upholstery between 2010 and 2012. Including the excellent 3 position hood.
Since 2013 extensive mechanical work has been done including fitting electronic power steering. The engine has been completely rebuilt, balanced and the flywheel lightened. All auxiliaries have been reconditioned or replaced and a Facet electronic petrol pump has been fitted.
The gear selector has been transferred from the steering column to the floor. Front and rear seat belts have been fitted. Ignore the dates on the photos all the photos were taken after March 2014.
