Sunbeam's first forays into manufacturing were with bicycles. Its first car appeared in 1901, and production continued until receivership beckoned in 1937. The company was bought out by the Rootes Group, and went on to released such much-loved cars as the Alpine, Gazelle, Tiger and Rapier.
