Barn find Talbot

Barn find Talbot A Talbot 14/45hp Weymann Saloon that has been in dry storage for 45 years will be offered for auction without reserve by Bonhams at its Oxford sale on 16 June.

Carrying an estimate of £4000 - £6000, the 1927 car was acquired by a family of keen Talbot enthusiasts in 1966 and was put in storage, along with a number of other cars, to preserve the marque.

This particular 14/45 was last used in 1967, since when it has been kept in dry storage. The Weymann-type body is said to be in a sound condition, with little noticeable door drop. The interior is described as being in “surprisingly good condition”, retaining all the original upholstery and headlining. Although the car doesn’t currently have any documentation, it’s believed that the relevant paperwork will be obtained by the time of sale.
