Show Round-up for weekend of the 17th and 18th of September
Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam Railway Nostalgia Day 18th September
Steam trains and classic cars always go together quite nicely and this could be a fairly calm Sunday activity now the schools have all gone back. There will be a special combination of classic cars, bikes and commercials and a free vintage bus service will operate between Toddington and Winchcombe stations. To view the vehicle displays at Toddington will also be free.
Classics on the Green Watford and District Classic Vehicle Club 18th September
I quite like the look of this due to the open nature of the event and the club in question and I think there is a lot to be said for their relaxed attitude towards enthusiasts. There will be no classes or awards and anyone can turn up as long as theyre a classic car enthusiast. Held on Croxley Green in Rickmansworth this should provide a fairly chilled out day. Have a look at the club website for more details.
Goodwood Revival 16th 18th September
Ive deliberately left this one till last as it will eclipse the other shows mentioned. Goodwood Revival is one of the must attend shows of the year and also presents a great opportunity to dress up in your grandparents clothes.
All cars taking place in racing activity will have been made between 1948 and 1966 and the racing displays are excellent with over 70 star drivers booked for this year. As always there will be flying displays with a particular emphasis on the Spitfire this year which celebrates its 75th birthday. Weekend pass tickets have already sold out. With adult ticket prices starting from £36 per adult per day, it is certainly one of the more expensive events but it is also one of the best.
