New Dealership Coming Soon By Nick Larkin
A group of Aston Martin fanatic friends are setting up their own classic car dealership. All kinds of classics will be on offer in a newly built in a newly built showroom, and trading should begin by the end of March.
The trio behind the venture are Steve Cato, who has been in the restoration business for 25 years, specialising in cars such as Astons and Jaguars, Gary Ungler, who is semi-retired but previously ran a medical electronics business, and Richard Phillips, once a merchant banker but now running a remote internet secretarial services company.
As members of the Aston Martin Owners’ Club, they started going to events and auctions together.
The sales business will be based next to the Stephen Cato Cars workshops at Shouldham, Norfolk. The premises were at one time owned by the Brundle family of racer/motor racing commentator Martin Brundle fame.
Said Steve “We’d often thought about selling cars and it seemed to be the right time.”
Although Astons are expected to form a big part of the stock many other classic tastes will be catered for. We’ll be selling a lot of the cars we like, said Steve.
There is as yet still one important matter to resolve – coming up with a name for the new business!
