Glorious Goodwood

Glorious Goodwood As I write, I’m sure many of you are eagerly awaiting one of the most anticipated shows of the season; the Goodwood Revival. One of the few events to transcend social boundaries, the Revival attracts not only car buffs like ourselves, but also fashionistas, celebrities and the main stream media, and it delights us all in equal measure. And this year’s show is set to be even better than last, with the inclusion of a 90-minute night race. For me, this is fantastic news, as it brings the Revival more in line with my favourite events of the season – the Spa Classic and Le Mans Classic, which are more focused on the on-track action.

Despite my love of historic racing, I will be looking forward to seeing everyone dressed up, though I have to confess to falling into the usual trap of ‘race mechanic’ or ‘serviceman’, more through lack of planning than lack of imagination. A hasty trip to the surplus store is on the cards in my lunch break – I just hope I’m not too late!

If you see any of the Classic Car Weekly or CCfS team at the Revival, be sure to say hello.
