1936 DERBY BENTLEY 4.25 LITRE 3 POSITION DROPHEAD BY HOOPER - £145,000
Chassis number B-18-HK
Engine Number H6BB
Registration number NLP34
A superb & low mileage Bentley 3 position drop head by Hooper. The car was originally ordered by his Highness Mohammed Sultan Bey of Cairo in Egypt.
The car is mechanically excellent having had much money spent upon it by its current owner. The engine starts readily with good oil pressure & pulls strongly. There is a recent set of large bills from Taylors of Chichester, Blackmore engineering & James Pearce coachbuilders. The owners brief was to put the car in tip top mechanical condition for extensive touring whilst also smartening the interior cosmetics.
The exterior is finished in blue & cream. The paint is absolutely brand new as the car recently underwent a full bare metal respray. Inside the car has cream leather in lovely order, & benefits from new carpets. Woodwork is all present & in good condition. The hood again is navy blue and brand new along with brand new tanned headlining ; versatile in configuration it may be used fully closed, half open or fully open.
Coachwork is one of Hooper's finest Derby designs with a delightful semi-recessed spare wheel in the boot. All in all an important car with ultra desirable Hooper coachwork. This is a relatively low mile chassis due to the car having been laid up for 30 years after the war.
