Classic Rover 3500S Car Review

The 1970 P6 facelift included a matt black grille, improved interior trim and a vinyl roof option - very important in the 1970s. A new 3500S high-performance version was also added, with increased power (152bhp) and manual gearbox as standard, although an automatic was still offered. The "S" also had subtle extra badges, while the Rostyle type road wheels hinted at the extra performance. The 3500 had already established itself as a favourite with the Police as a traffic car, but with 123 mph on tap and 60mph in 9.2 seconds, the 3500S was even better, and many Police forces unfortunately added them to their fleets!
