Q: Should I e-mail or telephone a seller?
A: If you are really interested, why not ring the seller rather than run the risk of someone else ringing and buying the car before you do?
Remember to mention where you saw their advert - on www.ClassicCarsForSale.co.uk - the number 1 website for Classic cars...
Q: How do I cancel my advert?
A: On the initial e-mail confirmation sent to you, you have details of how to cancel your advertisement.
If you have lost this email then please cancel by emailing advertupdates@classiccarsforsale.co.uk .
Your car ID number would be useful but failing this your surname and car make and model with help us find you car. Please note that your email address must correspond to the original email address you used to make the advert.
Q: How do I change my advert with new price, pictures, etc?
A: If you want to change the price of your car or its description or add new images please email advertupdates@classiccarsforsale.co.uk and we will do this for you.
Q: How should I word my ad?
A: Put the unique or most important points in the first line of your text. (Remember, the make and model of your car is entered in individual boxes anyway so no need to repeat this in the main text.)
Q: What catagory of car is mine?
A: Very much left to you, because there are so many different cars out there made for different purposes. As a guide to you, here are some suggestions:-
Pre-War = anything pre 1940.
Coupe = 2 doors and comprimised rear access.
Saloon = 4 door saloons in the main or maybe 2 doors with good access to rear seats, eg Volkswagen Beetle.
Prestige = Rolls level from any period.
Supercar = Anything from pre-war exotic to 2007 Bugatti Veyron - must have impeccable pedigree.
Track/Rally = Anything specifically made to take to the track or off-road rallying.
Modern = anything including and post 1990 which does not fit into the above.
Q: Why when I tried to load a private advert it was refused - timed out?
A: The most likely explanation for this is that your image file size was too big. Each image must be a maximum of 2048 x 1536 pixels (3 Mega Pixel). You can reduce the image size using your graphics package. If you do not know how to do this, or if you still get problems please email advertupdates@classiccarsforsale.co.uk
Q: Why, after emailing five sellers was I unable to email anymore people?
A: If you encounter this problem please email admin@classiccarsforsale.co.uk .
Q: I am concerned about scams. How do I know the enquiries I get will be genuine?
A: We do all we can to stop scammers emailing sellers and our software is very successful in stopping most of them. However, we cannot guarantee that some enquiries may not be genuine. The short answer is, if it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is! More information on potential scams can be found here www.used-car-advisor.com/car-buyer-scam.htm .
Q: What does POA stand for?
A: Price on application
Q: How come all Minis are listed under MINI and only ROVER MINIS are under Rover?
A: Minis were made in Austin and Morris forms and also as British Leyland Mini and Rover. The modern Mini brand made by BMW is also strongly marketed as Mini, so these too are listed here under Mini, apart from the post 1990 Rover Minis which are under ROVER - under Modern Classics.
