EXTERIOR

With so few miles under its belt this little Fiat is in fantastic condition. It was owned by the same family for the first 26 years of its life and kept garaged so the body has remained in rust free condition and avoided falling victim to it like so many of other X1/9s. Two further enthusiasts have owned the car keeping it garaged, waxoiled and well serviced. There are a couple of chips on the door edges and a stonechip to the front but apart from these marks the car defys its age.

INTERIOR

With a great red interior and some retro styling, you can't get more 80's than this! The red leather seats are in perfect condition with no wear whatsoever, all the switch gear works as it should and its fitted with some tailored over mats. Ready for that weekend away it has some factory option X1/9 branded overnight bags in the boot.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION

The current owner has looked after the car very well, and has addressed every minor issue to get it running perfectly. The car had a major service last year in which all belts including the cambelt ware replaced, spark plugs and all fluids. In March this year a new alternator was fitted. As you would expect with the low mileage the gearbox is a joy to use as its very light and precise and moves easily through the gears.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES

The X1/9 is fitted with the factory 13" alloys with Firestone tyres all round all with good tread. The brakes were fully overhauled with new callipers, disks, pads and master cylinder when the car came out of storage.

HISTORY FILE

The original bill of sale still remains in the history stating a purchase price of 'š£7306.89 in 1982, the original Bertone document pouch is also present with service book, owner's manual, all other original booklets and several old MOT certificates.

The X1/9 was originally bought by a Mr Pleece as a gift for his wife, she did not get on with the car that well so it only had limited use. On her passing the ownership was transferred into Mr Pleece's name and then subsequently into his granddaughters name. In 2008 with a growing Family she sold the car to the current owner who is a member of the X1/9 owners club. He has spent a considerable amount of money getting the mechanics of the car 100% all of which is documented in the history file. There are also two original sales brochures, ious articles with information on X1/9's and a copy of the X1/9's owner's club technical articles.
