How right they were, for this car must be one of the greatest automotive designs ever to see the light of day. Strong, purposeful stance coupled with graceful sweeping lines, this iconic motor is truly the embodiment of the Aston Martin ethos; Power, Beauty & Soul.

The Vanquish is a rare sight on Britain's roads, made at a rate of 200-300 per year between 2001 and 2007, this aluminium and carbon-fibre bodied supercar is also the last Aston Martin model to be hand-made at the factory in Newport Pagnell. This is why it holds such a special special place in the hearts of Aston aficionados the world over. The last of the great, hand-built Aston Martins and a showcase for British craftsmanship at it's best.

It's quick too, with a 0-60 of 4.5 seconds and 191 MPH top speed, "Four tugs on the left-hand paddle and gearbox leapt seamlessly from a loping sixth to a screaming second. Throttles wide open, it sat back, gathered itself and speared forward." It demands your attention, this is not a car that you can expect to "drive itself", it wants to be "driven", and those fortunate enough to get behind the wheel are in for a very rewarding experience indeed.
