motodrome are pleased to offer MUD 41Y, a well-known 1983 110 in Land Rover circles.
First registered in 1983, this is one of the first 110s built. In 1995 the then owner decided to embark on a complete rebuild, which took 8 years and over '£25000 to complete. It was featured in the March 03 issue of Land Rover Owner International, where its full strip and rebuild onto a new galvanised chassis, galvanised bulkhead etc, and fitment of a brand-new Defender 200Tdi engine etc were fully documented.
It has a superb specification as follows:
Body/Chassis
Full galvanised chassis, rear crossmember and front bumper, galvanised bulkhead, galvanised side frames and B/C/D posts. Later Defender doors, clamshell tailgate. Professionally repainted in JCB yellow. Fitted with bonnet mount for spare wheel, chequerplate trim to modesty covers, wingtops, and bonnet. Ram air intake. Adjustable towpack.
Engine and Drivetrain
Standard-spec Defender 200TDi engine (brand new from Land Rover in 1996 supplied with all ancilliaries and new LT77 gearbox at a cost of '£6000), later axles (rear with discs) , and a set of 4 BFG T/A 235/85R16 tyres on Boost alloys. Twin batteries.
Interior
Fitted with 5 supremely comfortable Tracker seats with high-back rear seats, and Land Rover logos, matching centre lockbox, new headlining, radio/CD player. Extra chequerplate to load area giving a privacy compartment.
also fitted with: power steering, it has impeccable and well-documented provenance, and is very well-sorted. Its only had 2 owners since 1995, the chap who rebuilt it, and then the last owner since 2004.
It comes with a very long MOT to the end of August 2013, with no advisories.
It also comes with a nice MUD numberplate, which stays with the car unless we sell it outside the UK, when we reserve the right to retain it. .
On a 50-mile test it performed really well
