EXTERIOR

This beautiful Celica is finished in striking Yellow, (colour code 564) and is absolutely stunning. The paint has a gloss silk sheen which is immaculate. All the chrome and trim is bright and the correct decals are intact. The broad honeycomb grille with the important ST designation gives the car a slightly aggressive line and the look is attractive at any angle. An expensive photographic restoration leaves no doubt that this example is structurally perfect with none of the usual corrosion issues associated with this model. A real collectors item.

INTERIOR

Incredible and completely original. The front reclining seats with built-in head restraints are finished in a fine tan cloth upholstery,(code FG43) and are virtually unmarked. The matching carpets, door cards and plastic trim show minimal wear with only tiny markings under close scrutiny. The dash has not faded and the simulated wood fascia is perfect with no stress cracks. Replacement speakers have been fitted. All the controls, gauges and switch gear work with precision including the slightly noisy clock. A clearly evident and meticulously cared for car.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION

Performance, reliability and economy will all be enjoyed by the new owner with this example. The ST model is fitted with the uprated four cylinder engine with overhead valves, an aluminium crossflow head and twin downdraft solex carburetors. This engine produces 86bhp at 5600rpm and is wonderful. A recent engine overhaul in March 2011 by Drake Engine Re-Manufactures to convert the vehicle to unleaded makes it a simple machine to enjoy. The 5-speed T50 gearbox offers finger light gear changes.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES.

Immaculate pressed steel wheels with the correct chrome Toyota centre caps are shod in branded tyres all with decent tread. The dual circuit brakes are servo assisted with a rear brake compensation valve an offer progressive feel and security.

HISTORY FILE

Supplied new by Pollitts Main Toyota Dealers in Exeter on the 7th March 1978 and only owned by five former keepers this vehicle has the original service book stamped up to 67,904 miles. Combine this record with a collection of MOT certificates and we are happy to warrant the very low mileage of just 76,327. A comprehensive file of invoices, owner letters and photos help confirm the genuine nature of this wonderful example. Recent expenditure on a mechanical overhaul is included and provides reassurance of the mechanical excellent condition.
