This outstanding 1973 Ford Mustang convertible fits right in here at Vanguard Motor Sales in Plymouth, Michigan, and more than holds its own. This Mustang had a 4 year, ground up restoration in 2008 and has only seen 3,000 miles since.

The body panels are extremely straight and rust free. The body on this Mustang has not a single ripple, wave, dent, or ding. The body was bead blasted and then professionally custom painted in Dupont 209 Cona Blue in 2009. The paint job is absolutely stellar. The silver hood is so nicely painted that you cant even feel the lines when you run your hand over the hood. The Mach 1 decals have been recently added. All of the stainless trim and chrome on this Mustang is straight and blemish free. The margins, door lips and door jams are in excellent condition. The rockers are in great shape, you can still see the part numbers stamped on them! The door handles have been shaved off, and the poppers are located next to the windshield wipers under the hood lip. The trunk also has a popper button under the passenger side of the rear bumper.

Present under the long 1973 Mustang hood is the rebuilt 351 Cleveland, mated to an Edelbrock 4 barrel carb with a 484 cam. The air conditioning looks to have some new components, there is a Crane Fireball XR700 ignition and a manual shut-off for the trunk mounted battery. Check out the polish on the billet aluminum air cleaner and valve covers! The firewall, inner fenders and underside of the hood are clean and nicely painted. Front power disc brakes and rear drums, combined with power steering make this one fun convertible to drive.

The underside of this Mustang is just as nice as the rest of the car. The rebuilt C6 transmission has a shift kit and a new chrome pan, and sends power to the Ford 9” posi rear end with 3:50 gears. Out back you will find a solid exhaust system with Glass Pack mufflers and new chrome exhaust tips. The springs are new, the shocks are in great shape, the wheel cylinders have been recently replaced and the hard brake lines are new. The floors have some light undercoating, and there are no holes or rust anywhere. The frame has some extra supports, and this convertible is solid! Up front you will see that the headers have been wrapped in heat tape to keep the heat out of the inside of the car. The steering is in great shape, the lower control arms have been replaced and the bushings and ball joints are new. To finish off this stunning car are four beautiful Magnum 500s.

The interior of this Mustang is also in stunning condition. The door panels are near perfect, with wood grain inserts. The white bucket seats are clean, comfortable and free of any defects. The dash pad, gauges, and instrument cluster look spectacular. The console is in extremely nice condition and features a set of aftermarket gauges. The power top is new and works without any issues..
