An original, very early Toyota MR2 with just 52,233 miles, two owners and supplying main Dealer history from new.

EQUIPMENT

Front, roof and boot spoilers, remote fuel flap and boot release, tinted glass, glass moon-roof, pop-up halogen headlamps, FM/MW/LW push button stereo radio cassette, digital quartz clock, engine check system, tachometer, voltmeter, oil pressure gauge, electric door mirrors, one-touch electric windows, tilt steering wheel, seven-way adjustable seats, leather steering wheel.

EXTERIOR

This MR2 is finished in the classic Super Red which suits the car perfectly. The paint still retains a deep gloss finish with no colour fade. A small repair to the drivers door was carried out in March 1995, (body repair guarantee certificate in the history file) and a very slight colour mismatch can be seen. There is no corrosion or rust and the vehicle is structurally perfect. All the bumpers are scuff free and the car is still fitted with the supplying Dealer number plates. The original tools, jack and spare wheel are retained in the front storage area. A beautiful rare survivor.

INTERIOR

Incredible. A true 1980s cockpit with preserved and undamaged red and black sports velour seats. A perfect drivers position can easily be achieved thanks the comfortable seven-way adjustable seats and steering column. All the trim is factory standard and fully operational controls and gauges make this interior remarkable. Toyota carpet mats have been fitted from new and factory stickers still remain intact. Fresh, bright and ready for fun.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION

Technically advanced this mid-engine sports car offers the perfect set-up. Four valves per cylinder, twin overhead-cam and a unique Toyota Variable Induction System resulting in a powerful, crisp 123 BHP with lighting engine responses. A wonderful engine growl encourages the enthusiastic driver. Full main Dealer history from new and a cam-belt kit fitted in June 2012 means the new owner can revel in this cars intended purpose, fast fun! The close ratio 5-speed short shift gearbox is tight, precise and faultless.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES.

Unblemished light alloy MR2 sports wheels shod in brand new 185/60 HR14 tyres. Front and rear disc brakes, (ventilated at the front), with tandem master cylinders and booster offer reassuring stopping power.

HISTORY FILE

Registered to a Mr Shephard on the 1st August 1985 by Toyota Main Dealers, West Malling Motors in Kent this car has been maintained by the supplying dealer from new with a staggering 31 visits, the last recorded on the 1st August 2011. Sold to his neighbour Miss Vickers in 2003 when his age made driving difficult she continued the cars unbroken service record and careful care.

Masses of invoices, customer/manufacturer letter communications, early press reviews and supplying brochure and price list from 1985 all build a perfect and unrepeatable history file. All handbooks, service books, warranty books, instruction manuals are still contained within the red A5 plastic Toyota file. Toyota key-ring and all keys supplied along with Toyota MR2 Mk1 Club leaflets passed on by the previous member owner.

Recent expenditure includes a full cam-belt change. 12 Months MOT and HPI clear.
