Chassis Number: 16LF Engine Number 55AA Registration Number: YH2900 (Original London issue.) A very original car with coachwork by noted builders Thrupp & Maberly in the form of a Sedanca De Ville. The car has had just 5 owners from new & has escaped major modification during its life. First owned by K.S. Smith Esq., the Rolls-Royce then passed through the hands of James Raynor Hand Esq., Raymond Leslie Ball Esq. and Michael McCormack Esq. before entering the current stewardship. The paintwork is maroon over black & in overall very good order save for a slightly balding spot on the bonnet top; a result of 90 years of polishing!!! The rear quarters are fabric covered & in as new condition having at some time been replaced. The sedanca top is original to the car & is of supple black leather with fixing poppers down both sides. The interior is new black leather to the working quarters up front & original style Bedford cord to the rear. All upholstery is in superb condition. Twin occasional seats fold out in t©te a t©te configuration from the bulkhead allowing seating for seven. A drinks cabinet complete with decanter (Armanac recommended) & glasses for libations nestles between the occasional seats. The car boasts twin side mount spare wheels making for an imposing frontal appearance. To the rear is an unusually curved period motoring trunk in excellent condition. Clean & tidy under the bonnet the car looks to have been rewired using correct cloth covered cabling in the appropriate colours. A sonorous Klaxon is bolted to the bulkhead. Leather wefco gaiters cover the leaf springs as when new. Ace wheel discs grace the four corners. The car starts readily & has a "go anywhere" feel to it. Temperature remains at a cool 60 to 70 degrees & the oil pressure, off the scale when cold, reads a very healthy mid 20's when hot. On the road the car pulls strongly & is easily able to hold its own in modern traffic which parts like the red sea given the slightly "Mr Toad" frontal appearance of the beast. The car is currently undergoing a full service with us to include Tappets, Fluids, Chassis lube & setting the timings back to factory settings along with sorting out the advance/retard linkages back to factory spec. It may be viewed by prior appointment at our premises.
