Jensen Interceptor Series III first registered in 1976.
The Jensen Interceptor was a sporting GT car built by Jensen Motors between 1966 and 1976 and broke with Jensen tradition by having an all steel body instead of employing fibreglass as in the earlier models. Rather like Aston Martin, they employed an Italian design house (Carrozzeria Touring) to design the new car with stunning effect. As with many small manufacturers they also purchased many of the main components from tried and tested sources which resulted in the car having a Chrysler V8 engine with the drive through Torqueflite transmission and a limited slip Salisbury solid rear axle.
The car that we are proud to offer for sale must not be confused with most other inferior examples as we are convinced that we have the Best Jensen Interceptor in captivity in significantly superior condition to when it left the factory.
Absolutely no expense has been spared in the reconstruction of this fine motor car; the donor vehicle for this project was a 2 owner example with just 25,000 recorded miles.
Particularly skilled craftsmen were employed and the whole car including chassis and body were stripped to bare metal to avoid any corrosion being missed. The owner was determined to produce what is probably the best Jensen anywhere in the world and to this end he embarked on a full mechanical rebuild of the complete drive train and has added sensible upgrades such as improved brakes, a three fan cooling system and a heavy duty alternator which all combine to the usability of the motor car.
The finish of the interior is exemplary, combining the finest Connolly hides with top grade Wilton carpeting and a high gloss walnut veneer finish to the dash. In order to make the car as user friendly as possible in current traffic conditions, Satellite navigation was also fitted.
With Aston Martin prices going through the roof, this car represents a worthy alternative at a price that is only a percentage of the build cost.
