The Sunbeam 12/30 H.P was introduced in response to demand for a car with similar quality and design to the Sunbeam 14 but to be lighter in weight and smaller in dimensions. The four seater body was specially designed for this chassis and Sunbeam claimed this to be an economical car as regards to upkeep and that performance and efficiency were equal to many larger cars.

This stunning example is one of only 90 produced and we are told only three Wolverhampton built examples are known to remain. This car was built in 1924 and was exported to Melbourne, Australia in 1933 where it spent 65 years. The Sunbeam comes with an extensive history with a documented file from its time in Australia including original receipts, original owner's certificates, letters of correspondence between former owners, insurance documentation and many photographs of the Sunbeam in use between the 1930's and 1950's.

The condition of the Sunbeam is stunning. The car has been clearly maintained to the highest of standards throughout its life and the detailed record of maintenance from the 1940's highlights this. The Sunbeam has been carefully detailed and has lovely paintwork and a strong, straight body. The interior appears to be highly original and the weather equipment is in very good order. The dashboard and instruments are in excellent condition and the engine bay is delightful. The Sunbeam Tourer is outstanding to drive with a strong, powerful engine and the gearbox is lovely to use. The Sunbeam holds the road very well and is ideal for showing or long distance touring.
