The Fun Cup endurance racing series was launched in the UK in 2002, as a step forward in motorsport with the clearly defined objective of providing cost effective, close, exciting and above all, good fun racing for all teams competing.
The concept was originally conceived in Belgium based on the success of endurance Karting. As well as series in the UK and Belgium, it now runs in France, Italy, Germany and Spain. From small beginnings, it has taken off to massive success with more than 160 cars on the grid for the Spa 25 hour race and regular grids, topping 50 cars in Europe.
The cars are race designed, single-seaters, with super-strong space frame chassis. Fun Cup cars are powered either by an 1800cc VW/Audi, 130bhp petrol or 160bhp diesel engine, with a 5 speed gearbox, race brakes and fully adjustable suspension.
We are offering our own petrol car no.221, which debuted at Croft in May 2007 with Eugene OBrien driving. In his hands it was the quickest UK petrol car. With Oakfields it has finished two Spa 25hr Races, a cat fire in 2009 resulting in 76th place. In its last outing there in 2010 the car was running 14th overall until T-boned, still finishing 42nd and 1st petrol car. The car has since been repaired and is now finished in plain white.
