This is a rare opportunity to purchase a genuine 2 owner 1984 (B reg) unmolested 130TC that has been garaged all its life, spending more than a total of 10 years off the road (SORN). It is estimated that there are now only 60 cars left on the road out of the 700 imported by Fiat UK.
This car is taxed till end Feb 2012 & MOT till Aug 2012 and comes with a full Lever Arch folder stuffed with history. This includes the original bill of sale from the dealer where a Sunbeam 1600Ti was part exchanged, original Strada handbook, original 130TC Supplement, stamped Fiat service manual and numerous bills. Its 105000 miles can be easily tracked with MOTs & service history. I have owed the car for the last 3 years adding less than 1000 miles, being garaged and only coming out on dry Sundays.
This 130TC is fitted with a Guy Croft engine costing £2,500 in 1996. Running on twin 45 DCOE Webers and comes complete with the original typed & hand written spec sheets from Guy Croft and from the data estimating an increase in power from 130 to 160bhp, giving a fantastic rev range easily into the red. Still running a standard exhaust system, carburettor airbox and filter the sound from this engine is truly amazing, from the idling burble to the hard acceleration roar, easily turning heads. From the history I estimate that this engine has only covered about 7,000 miles.
The car is complete with a lot of original features including both N/S & O/S door wind deflectors, glove box removable lamp, removable glass sunroof complete with its vinyl protection case and Perspex wind deflector.
The interior is in an excellent condition with the seats showing very little wear, although the driver¢s seat has a small patch (50p size) of slight fraying that does not even show when photographed. Interior door panels, rear side panels and parcel shelf are quite unique being standard having no speaker holes or other fittings. Floor carpets and drivers foot protection mat show very little wear. Roof lining is unmarked and is not sagging but has a couple of ripple points so is not perfect.
The overall body is in excellent order showing no signs of the normal rot spots that the 130TC suffer from, although it has had some small repair work to the seat mounting points (but that¢s not particularity unusual) it is very sound and solid. The car has been resprayed around 1998 and is finished in a very highly polished gloss black far above normal standard. The body work does show some driving marks (stone chips), a few minor blemishes, slight paint flake along the top edge of the windscreen and has a few scratches. There is no evidence of any corrosion. The windscreen has a small stone chip on the passenger side. The car has also been featured twice in Autoitalia magazine
Any potential purchaser must understand that this is a 27 years old car with 105,000 miles on the clock and is not a concourse car. It has been used as a road car and therefore shows general driving marks but for its age and history the overall condition is truly remarkable and a head turner.
I am selling to make space and to fund the build of a competition car, hopefully a 130TC or Golf GTi.
130TC¢s do not come on the market very often especially in this condition so viewing before purchase is strongly recommended.
