The time has come to sell Phil, my 1998 Rover Mini Cooper sports pack MPi as I am not using him enough (180 miles in the last 3 months)
I bought Phil in January this year and the last owner had him in 2003.
Mot to July 20th 2012 and tax to end of August 2012.
I have had quite a few things done since January: -
Wiper blades
Handbrake cable
New bushes to n/s radius arm
Front brake discs and pads
Rear shock absorbers
Spark plugs
Front radiator grille (retro wavy type)
Headlamp rims
O/s and n/s CV boots
Oil filter, air filter
Clutch master and slave cylinders
o/s/r wheel bearing
New battery with 3 year guarantee
Other bits:
Anti freeze changed
Oil changed
Injectors cleaned
Phil drives really well; gears change smoothly, brakes well, razor sharp steering, perky.
I have the handbook pack, the service book, handbook, 4 recent receipts totalling £715 (and about £200 parts of parts as well). I also have a sheet that suggests that the car finished its production process on 5th May 1998
There are a couple of issues to attend to; the airbag warning light is on, the MoT had an advisory for oil leaks from the engine (nothing serious I think - it is an A series engine after all), rust on the fuel pipe, and maybe a slight blow on the exhaust manifold.
It is also a typical classic Mini; there is some rust to the rear valance, scuttle, osf wing (near arch), both door bottoms (and on the n/s at the top of the skin). BUT mechanics and body shop guys who have seen it have all said that by the standard of so many classic Minis it really isn't bad at all
