1965 Jaguar E Type Series 1 4.2 Open Two Seater Chassis#1E 1241 Exterior Finished in Signal Red the car presents extremely well. The sills, floors and bonnet have all been professionally replaced in the course of the car’s life, and the car is very sound structurally. The paint finish is superb. The wire wheels (slightly wider than standard) are in excellent condition and the tyres are as new. Interior Finished in Tan leather it is in excellent condition, correctly detailed, and the carpets are new. There is a modern stereo fitted. The hood has also been replaced professionally and is in excellent condition. Mechanicals The car has been sympathetically maintained by the previous owner, the car is in a very good condition with recent work including a gearbox rebuild, new clutch assembly, new halogen headlamps, renewed electrical wiring, re-enamelled exhaust manifolds and new water pump. The car has a stainless steel exhaust fitted. The car starts, runs and drives very well indeed. There is a file with some of the more recent invoices that comes with the car. I had the opportunity of driving the car in London traffic on a hot day, and it maintained its temperature well, with the fans cutting in and out correctly.
