Porsche 911 RSR Replica This well-known RSR replica is based on a 1985 911 3.2 Carrera shell and was built by respected Porsche specialists RS-911. Both the front and rear wings are steel as is the bonnet, which is necessary to fit the 1970’s Cibie spotlights. The wheels are original 15 inches Fuchs alloys that were banded by a German TuV specialist to give 9J fronts and 11 J rears. The engine has had a top end rebuild and the barrels recoated at 104k miles by JZ Machtech. Mild modifications include a free flow air intake and custom dual exhaust along with a Steve Wong performance chip. In addition, the gearbox was fully rebuilt and a new Sachs Power clutch was fitted, a new alernator, new fuel pump, new Bilstein shocks and turbo tie rods were also installed. The interior includes period style leather bucket seats; Luke harnesses and an RSR style half roll cage. This RSR replica represents a very well sorted and well-presented car that is ready to be used with complete confidence. The file is substantial, and all work has been photographically recorded, also, it is nicely documented in a feature article in Total 911 magazine. |

Some History of the Porsche 911
The racing success of the famously rear-engined Porsche 911 has led to Porsche bulding various, powerful race inspired variants of the car; including the Porsche 935. A direct descendant f the Volkswagen Beetle, the Porsche AG 911 was unveilded at the 1963 Frankfurt Motor Show, where it received great press reviews for its styling alone. The fable famously goes that it was to be known as the Porsche 901, however Peugeot owned copyright on car names of 3 numbers with an 0 in the middle, and so at the last minute the name was changed and the Porsche 911 wen t on sale in 1964.
When released the 2+2 car was offered with a 'boxer' configured 1991cc six-cylinder air cooled engine, and shared its bodywork with the lesser Porsche 912.
