For Sale we have my much loved Celica 2ltr gti If you look around on the net, you will see just how rare these cars are now. I couldn't find a sinlgle one apart from mine that is. Its in lovely condition for a 22 year old car. If you know these cars, you will know they suffer pretty badly from rust, which is probably why they are so rare. Most went to the scrap yard in the sky many years ago. Checking the DVLA it appears there are just over 100 of these cars left still registered. How many of them are actually road worthy is another matter. About the car. Its an F reg in white as can be seen from the images. Front and rear wheel arches (common rust spot) are all perfect and have no signs of repair, filling etc. When I got it the sunroof (another rust hot spot) was well gone along the front edge. I bought a replacement sunroof with no rust and had it swapped using a new sunroof seal from Toyota. Its now completely rust free and looks lovely. The paint is generally good but not concurs. I assume its the original 22 year old paint and given this its very shiny and clean. No flat dull spots anywhere and the only noticable mark on the body is a small dent on the wing (see images) this hasn't damaged the paint and could easily be pushed out by a panel beater. I've never bothered because it doesn't bother me. If the paint was scratched I may have had it sorted to prevent water ingress and rust. The basics about the car, its an Auto with smooth changes, good kick down and the overdrive works as it should Its only done 78k miles and has pretty much a full service histroy MOT until July 2010 and I've just taxed it this week so thats good until end of July. Cam belt changed last year around 74k miles 4 new tyres on the standard wheels with the option to have a set of very clean BK racing 17" wheels should you wish for an extra £150 on top of the sale price. These are fitted with brand new tyres. Used mainly by my girlfriend at the moment due to me running about in her Mondeo. I do a lot more miles and I don't want them putting on the Celica. So far since last years MOT its done about 3k miles. She never has any problems with it and it always starts and drives fine. It had a oil and filter change last summer. There is a load of paper work with the car, almost a full service history, old bills and MOT's etc... Only faults, aerial stopped working and a small rip in the drivers seat lower back panel. All in all a very nice example of a very rare car. A certain future classic and if I had somewhere to store it I would do just that. Keep it locked up safe for 10 years and be selling it for several thousand pound. I've set the reserve to what I feel the car is worth. Old Toyota's are certainly getting desirable these days, look at how much a nice MK1 MR2 is selling for, well over £2k |
