Mercedes top of the range model, the 1963 newcomer featured an overhead camshaft fuel injected 6.3-litre V8 self levelling air suspension with variable ride control two three-phase current generators limited slip differential twin-circuit hydraulic brake system twin brake calipers to front four-speed automatic transmission all round disc brakes adjustable steering wheel for rake power assisted steering push-button hydraulic opening and closing of front and rear door windows and central rear side windows, central locking, outside-air thermometer, and separate heating / ventilation systems for front and rear compartments. Built in saloon and 7/8-seater limousine forms with either a 10 6 or 12 10 wheelbase, the Saloon measured 18 2, and 20 6 in Pullman form.
