1971 Lamborghini Espada Series 2 Rosso Coupé 5 Speed Manual 3.9 litre V12 100,676 mls VIN-No. 7782 A$ 69,995 Love it or hate it you have to look at the Lamborghini Espada as one of the true great grand tourers. With its 3.9 litre V12 up front running 6, yes 6 Webber 40 DCOEs carburettors, mmm nice and thirsty and producing 375 bhp !! With room for 4 adults. With a top speed of 155 mph it was the fastest 4 seater at the time. The Series 2 Espada was launched at the Brussels show in 1970 and featured a revised dasboard and some minor mechanical upgrades. The car we have here is considered a cross over. As Lamborghini were constantly revising and changing spec, production went on. This car has a very late Series 1 production chassis number but is infact a very early Series 2 car. It has the gorgeous Miura style cast wheels fitted which i think they look best on and is trimmed in its original brushed nylon beige trim ... very 70s. The Espada is still a very striking car and when i drove it the other day across Sydney Harbour Bridge people were just staring at it with that open mouthed look not knowing what it was. It's long, it's wide, it's loud, it's thirsty, it's absolutley fantastic and so so cool. |

A very distinctive design from the Bertone studio, it was far out in appearance yet eminently practical. With 150mph performance from the 3.9-litre V12 engine, five speed gearbox, chassis-mounted rear final drive and coil spring all-independent suspension, 1217 examples were built over the ten-year period from 1968 to 1978.
