This very fast Austin Seven racing car is built on a 1930 chassis with an Ulster period looking body. It has a VSCC buff log book and so is eligible for VSCC racing, sprint and hillclimb events, 750 Motor Club Triple Challenge and Trophy racing and the Pre-War Austin Seven Club Bert Hadley Memorial (sprints and hillclimbs) Championship. It has been modified for speed events – lowered and lightened, with an aluminium Ulster body and is set up to have exceptional driving stability. The 1930 engine has a Phoenix crankshaft with Renault pistons and rods and an aluminium head. It has a well renowned and reliable Paul Bonewell camshaft, a pressure fed oil system and a four speed close ratio gearbox, together with the15” wheels it makes this a seriously quick racing car. In this car I won the 2006 Bert Hadley Championship (sprints & hillclimbs), also the 2006 and 2004 750MC Triple Challenge Austin 7 circuit racing championship. Check out the results on the PWA7C and the 750MC web sites and I have many sets of lap times to prove its worth. I have removed none of the attributes that made this a winning car, it is the cream off the top and ready to jump in and race; it’s great fun to drive and not for the faint hearted! |
