CIRCUS IMPRESSARIO OWNED 1915 SILVER GHOST WITH POSSIBLE ROMANOFF CONNECTION AND EIGHTIES RESTORED XK120 ROADSTER. MG TC OR ELAN SPRINT. SEVENTIES VW CAMPER OR SIX YEARS OLD AND SUPER COOL NOBLE M12 GTO - JUST SOME OF THE MANY HUNDREDS OF COLLECTOR VEHICLE ENTRIES TO CCFS.
It was good to meet up with so many of our regular CCFS surfers who visited our stand at the NEC Classic Show stand in Birmingham last weekend. Among the very latest additions to our virtual showroom is a certainly Moscow-supplied in 1915 Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost with possible Czar Nicholas II of Russia provenance which comes to market from very pin-stripe blazer Henley-on-Thames. Also for sale are a said to be immaculate 1930s vintage Riley Monaco in Lancashire and, from the same pre-war era, an award winning Austin Seven Ruby hailing from South Wales. Or how about a seemingly steadily appreciating 1949 MG TC which is going under the H&H hammer at Buxton. The 1950s are represented, this week, by a North Yorkshire entered Jaguar XK120 Roadster, last rebuilt in Shipley during the late 1980s, and reluctantly for sale due to ill health, a Morris Minor 4-Door from Norfolk. Available, too, are a one family owned since 1963 MG Midget in Berkshire, an open 1971 Lotus Elan Sprint coming up for auction in Derbyshire and a freshly repainted 1972 VW Danbury Camper for sale in Suffolk. Also available are an MGB GT Final Limited Edition of 1981 from Lancashire, a West Yorkshire resident 1992 Merc 500SL with electric soft-top and an only 11,700m from new in 2003 Noble M12 GTO 3R in Surrey. Good Shopping! And finally, as every week, market watchers can be best informed first on what cars are fetching how much under the hammer by checking out the saleroom intelligence blog at the end of this newsletter. Despite the weather over 90,000 people visited the Classic Car Motor Show at the NEC last week-end an increase of 10% over last year. It was great to see so many enthusiasts all under one roof – one BIG roof – and that so many of you, from all over Europe, stopped by our stand to see us and tell us that you visit the site regularly. We were able to hear directly what you think about our site, the way it navigates, the features you like or don't like and whilst we cannot please everyone we will certainly take on board your suggestions to improve the site even more. We think having the stand was worthwhile and will certainly think about exhibiting next year! Many thanks for all your input.

MARKET COMMENTARY FROM resident analyst Richard Hudson-Evans
83% OF CARS SELL ON WET WEDNESDAY IN NORTH YORKSHIRE
Following on from a buoyant NEC Classic Car Show weekend in Birminham where many sales were recorded by exhibiting dealers, the very latest sale stats from this week's auction at Harrogate indicate that the bull market for collector vehicles motors on strongly. For on a wet and windy Wednesday at the top end of the M1 at The Yorkshire Event Centre, Bonhams annual auction was again well attended by enthusiasts who bought 58 of the 70 cars offered, 83 per cent of the catalogue, for just under £700,000.
The results were headed by a 1933 Lagonda 16/80 - formerly a Saloon with well executed open Tourer coachwork for four which had been in vendor ownership for 31 years - sold for a premium-inclusive £56,500. A 1934 Alvis Speed 20 SB 2½-Litre Cross & Ellis bodied Tourer 2½-Litre also made the required £54,300 and an extremely rare 1925-dated Beverley-Barnes 30/90hp 4.8 Eight powered 5-Seater Tourer sold for a mid-estimate £48,800. While the same money was invested in a 1935 Bentley with razor-edge 4-Door Saloon coachwork by Freestone & Webb and 3½-litre engine declared to be non-rotating. The most recent MOT certificate on file was dated 1975. Jaguar prices recorded here were £43,300 for an ex-US left to right-hand drive and restored 1955 XK140 Roadster, £31,625 for a 52,500 miles from new in 1973 E Type Series 3 V12 Roadster manual, £18,975 for a 1971 Series 3 V12 Coupe with Webasto and again manual-shift, and £10,120 for an apparently structurally sound looking, but very matt and in need of a repaint 1965 S-Type 3.4 Saloon. A 1984 Ferrari 400GTi 2+2 manual changed hands for a within guide price £14,950, an M Parts restored 1965 Mini Moke for a within forecast £12,650, a recently hill climbed 1930 Austin Seven Ulster Rep for £11,730 and a nicely presented 1934 BSA 9hp Scout 3-Wheeler for £9430. The latest price paid for an early Land Rover, in this case a regularly exercised Series One 80ins 'Military', was £6900. The top performers among the Classic Bikes in Yorkshire were a 1951 Vincent 988c Black Shadow sold for £47,700 and a c1930 Indian Model 402 Four for £33,350. Both had been fully restored and were super-mint. A mechanically and cosmetically challenged 1933 Matchless 593cc Model B Silver Hawk for restoration - last licenced for the road in 1957 and expected to fetch £5000-8000 - was taken on for a staggering £28,175. Whilst in the Automobilia section, eleven crates of loose 1927-1950 editions of The Autocar mag fetched £3335, far more than forecast, and a relatively recent leaping Jaguar showroom statue £1553. All sectors of the hobby would therefore appear to be in rude health. The UK market leader's next sale, their annual end of UK season fixture, takes place at London's Olympia, where more than 90 classics and much memorabilia go under the hammer Monday December 7 and all lots may be viewed at the West London venue Sunday 6.
